The first is quite flat, with very little tonal variation, this makes it hard to focus on any particular feature.

The second is beautiful, very nice tonemapping. The composition is a little tilted, but the HDR technique is perfect.

Second one is very nice, but agree on the first one, it's totally flat, I don't think HDR has done it any favours. Maybe up the saturation to bring out the sandy stone from the bleached wood?

Maybe a different composition so you can see the geometry of the wooden structure .
