This was a once in a lifetime oppertunity. I saw this guy out in the daytime at the local state park at eye level. He wasn't jumpy at, which is really unusual for a barred. He let me get about 10' away before he would jump. Then when he'd jump, he would only fly about 20' away onto a different perch, thus giving me more photo opps.
Here are a few of my shots I really liked...

The first perch:

The second perch (such a small twig, can't believe it didn't snap):
