So, even manual lens needs microadjustment?
No, not if manually focusing in live view.

I mean, I have to have something longer than 90mm, right? Bill is my name - I'm the most wanted man on my island, except I'm not on my island, of course. More's the pity.

It doesn't interfere with the upswing, but does occasionally catch on the return. A tiny nudge away from infinity frees it, though. I'll have to see if I can dig out a decent file to shave a little off of the metal surrounding the rear element. I'll get out a little more and get a few proper shots out of the thing. There's really no difference between using an old Nikkor on a Nikon and using one on a Canon body with an AF confirm adapter ($25 on eBay). Although from what I've heard they might meter more accurately on Nikon bodies. I, for instance, have an AI-S 28mm f/2.8 which is an absolutely spectacular lens on my 5d2. Even at 2.8 (aside from the corners, which suck but shape up as you stop down) it's sensor-defeatingly sharp. One of their lenses that I'd really like to try is the old 105mm f/1.8, but it's a bit too rich for my blood at the moment. Fuji X100 / Sony NEX-7 / Contax G 45mm f/2 / The ghosts of 3 Canon bodies past / A meagre amount of talent

It was my dad's lens from the film era. Sadly though I haven't been using it recently, eventhough I have an adapter to mount it on my 5D2 Bloom. Shot wide open, ISO 200, 1/800s on the ex-40D ![]()
