Do you assign a gender to your camera bodies? My hubby pointed out to me today that I refer to my 5D as "him" and my 40D as "her" ("pass her to me", "can I see him", etc.). Does anyone else do this? If so, what gender(s) is(are) your camera body(ies). Do you name them?

To add for the record: I've always referred to my XTi as a male and his name is Skippy. The 5D and 40D do not have names, just genders apparently.

I never "assign" gender or names to any inanimate objects.

Is "it", referring to my camera, a gender?

You never named your stuffed animals? That's sad. :(

My cameras do not have genders or names, however, I guess the lenses have the male ends and the body has the female end so I guess the body by itself could be "her" and a body/lens combo would be more like a hermaphrodite.

Well, in French it's "un appareil photo", so technically cameras are masculine ;).

Funny -- Just today I said "Give her to me" when asking a friend to return my camera.. guess that makes her a she! Never really thought about it before.
