Thanks for the compliment, and yes, we did go to the top - it was my second time and just as exhilarating as the first!

Just getting into the world of OCF. My wife suddenly announced one morning that we needed a set of pocket wizards - so here we are. (My wife is usually trying to talk me out of buying gear so I was pleasantly surprised)

This was taken up on a hill above Dodger Stadium, taking advantage of an amazing sunset unfortunately caused by the recent fires. I have a lot to learn but I was pretty happy with this shot.

I love this image too Will.

I have been planning an almost identical shot, sunset in the background, subject looking through tall grass etc.

You acheived a nice balance between ambient light and flash.
Big thumbs up from a fellow strobist apprentice ;)

PS: I'm currently enjoying your Flickr gallery over a cup of coffee!

Thank you

I'm trying to remember what setup I was using but I think it was an ab800 boomed over head into a beauty dish camera left and a bare ab800 camera right at a 45 degree angle. something quite similar to that

http://www.flickr.com/photos/jojo2fast/3878338389/ (external link)

It was close to this but for that shot im not sure if we used the bare ab800 or not.

The lighting looks natural, although a bit too flat perhaps. Did you smooth her skin?
