Very clean shot. . .love the composition. I'd flip the pic, but thats just a picky matter with lines.

We live on the east coast, so by flipping it it would do our heads in with the ocean on the left! Thanks for the comment anyway!

Wish we had locations like this in Los angeles.

Awe, your not happy with Hollywood, Santa Monica, palm trees ad traffic jams! ;). i had to travel to get to this location, it was a massive 10 minute walk from my place!:), and only an hours drive from the centre of Sydney.

2nd that about Evolved's portrait of his son!

@ phamster, cheers mate, our sun sets over the back of the escarpment and we don't get great sunset skies, but we do get stunning sunrises in the middle of winter.!

cheers for the answer phamster, pretty striaght forward with balancing the background and foreground, im going to start trying some portrait OCF soon, here is some photos from about 3 weeks ago one night i took my camera out to my local drinking hole with me (had organised it with the owner/operator).

17-85mm/50D in one hand with a YN460 flash (with cheap diffuser that came with it) with a cheap radio trigger in the other holding which ever way i wanted. this was my very first attempt at flash photography let alone OCF so i was pretty impressed with my efforts

A few from the wedding I just did last sat. Only second wedding using OCF. Shot these during speechs. Images are right out of raw conversion so no sharpening or cropping yet. 580 on camera and 580 camera left on stand. Both bounced off the ceiling with bounce card out. C&C welcome

I like #1 the best, focus on the speaker, enough light on his hair to separate him from the bg, no distracting exit light.

beautiful sky captured here:) whilst you have great illumination of the subjects:cool:, well done! the second shot just needed a touch of light from the rear to pop them out from the dark, but one again lovely front light.
