I've not had much chance to shoot off camera flash but this was a recent one held in my left hand.

Meet Whitney and Nate, to be wedded in June this year..

i will be working with them for more romance photos.. tonight was just a fun shoot, my style in a simple parking lot..

the light works for me here.. the colors and the ambient just sets them off, makes them Pop off the screen..

Camera:Canon EOS 5D Mark II
Exposure:0.017 sec (1/60)
Aperture:f/2.5
Focal Length:85 mm
ISO Speed:200
Exposure Bias:0 EV

i had blue gel in a speed light on the camera left, a green gel speed light on camera right,

Really like this, love how the gels have killed out the orange from the ambient lighting! :D

Love the way you use gels with portraits - something I haven't been able to do yet!...But its on my list for my 52 Week Project!

Here's my first real try at off cam flash.
Both photos have 1 580EXII cam left.

@ gnats
@ whitefire
@ funky

totally rocking shots. colors..lighting and expressions..

awesome.. keep putting up cool photos

@pridash,echo,

thanks !!

@ chris

had the gels pointing at the ground at slightly and about 9-10 feet away from the subjects

the light on a wet ground is very reflective.. that is why i called the couple to do the shoot, if you watch hollywood tv, they wet the ground lot, CSI Miami does it all the time..

I like the shot a lot Chris except for having lost all the detail in their shirts...thats my only gripe about it

And that guy hella looks like Andy from Everytime I die.
