lighting was boomed my dad in the westcott was single speed light triggered by Radio Poppers about 5 feet camera Right

CameraCanon EOS 5D Mark II
Exposure0.002 sec (1/500)
Aperturef/2.2
Focal Length85 mm
ISO Speed125
Exposure Bias0 EV

Amazing shot! I have a friend who's due to drop any time now, hoping she lets me get some newborn shots :D

dual bare speedlites (580EX + 430EZ) to overpower the sun for this one

I took the ND filter out for a spin yesterday and was pretty pleased with the results, but found that my 28-75 2.8 was miss focusing with it on, i've now found that the focus is off generally with the lens so am going to have to send it away to get calibrated...

Some ocf during a a couple from the reception at my last wedding.

Used a 580 off camera to light the table and a 580 on camera to light the couple.

Again a 580 on camera, and a 580 off camera for backlighting

How big was your umbrella? Would be interested to know what the ambient was like before the flash as well.

my umbrella is 42" and it was at like 8:30 at night so it was pretty dark over here at that time.

#1 One gelled (red) variable LED panel in book. One YN 560 set to 50% shot through an umbrella just to camera right.

#2 My wife and kids wouldn't play, so you get to see a selfy. Yikes.

Strobist: YN 560 flash through a home made snoot 50% power camera left about 6 foot away.

Thanks Rob! I'm surprised it was only 1/2 power! Btw, didn't spot the tiny bit of flare (bottom right hand corner) when I first viewed it on my phone - really nice touch! :D

yeah, i was expecting to have to double flash, but it would seem using the ND means that i can shoot with less power than without :)
