So Pham.... what is your impression of the PWers? How many shots to get to these shots? eTTL? or manual? on the flash. These are great.

ok..

first snaps with the PW 'flex' was at home.. went thru about 200 snaps to learn (i usually shot my table lamp because it is in the middle of my room)..

but i was going thru all the variables.. (Tv, Av, Manual) - all with ettl mode.
there is a slight subject light difference..on the lcd.. ( i didn't process these of course deleted after i went thru the spectrum to learn what the PW is capable of)

didn't check out the range.. but i am sure it is fine for what i will do.. me 40 feet is about the farthest away i will work from my lighting.

how many shots to get yield these shots? - i started on image number 2701 and ended on 2759. so about 60 shots.

i might not be the most efficient shooter out there, i tend to over do it..
also we did some walking sequence.. explained to the group. stay staggered in the array.. and here is the sweet spot, and walk.. and we did like 10 shots like this.

so for the settings in the camera. i had the eTTL activated. and i went into my comfort mode.. shot in manual on my camera. f 9
since is was dark outside i had to keep up the shutter speeds.. iso 800 did it for me.
data below.

IMAGE: http://i41.tinypic.com/dpaidf.jpg

still lots of using to know if i really like this..

but during the testing i was able to get perfect syn up to 1/320..

then 1/400 to 1/500 was black bars in the lower image.. (some tweaking to do)

then 1/640 was clean all the way up to 1/8000 shutter speeds..

another shot i liked

Hey Pham did you ever figure out why you seem to have exceeded sync from 1/400-1/500? I was doing some testing the other night and found similar results. Will have to do further testing when I have more time.

Stan

i think we can offset our speeds with the utility software that came with our PW's..

i have not the time to do it yet..

dissappointments in the PW's

1. the bottom of the male part of the flex is plastic?
2. when on top of my camera. (flex) and fully seated with the twist lock thumb dial, the flex unit still wobbles on my 5dMKII.. <<< does yours?

also i wanted to share this link...

it is full of info..
and great example photos acheived by OCF.

I have only taken it out of the box to put the battery in, but tonight I hope to take the gloves off and try them out.

So, Pham, why did you go with another flex instead of the mini tt1?

Kirby

the range of the flex should be slightly longer because it has the antenna..

that was my reason..

Hey all!
heres some shots i took a couple of days ago

the subjects are jumping on a trampoline and then i shoot upwards to get the perspective and cut out all the ground and everything,

all were shot at 1/2000 @ 4.5 using a 580ex2 in HSS to optically trigger an sb-26 on full power, 5D and 17-40 F4L

are you able to crank up your shutter speeds? if so.. do so.. and drop the ambient light down 1-2 stops.. will make your subject pop..

i like the subject's exposure.. the background is still too bright..

you are well on your way.. your trigger system is a what?

Tony !!!

you make it sound so simple !!!

i wish i had the radio poppers right now or my pocket wizards (pre order) to get shutter speeds of 1/1000....

i am limited to shutter speeds of 1/200 max, or 1/250 with a little black band on the bottom. sux.. (P.W.'s should elimated that.. or i can go corded..)

nice work again..

pham

Really???!!! I’ve been trying for months to get rid of the black space in my picks for MONTHS!! All I need is a different trigger????

yep.. the radio poppers or new Pocket wizards can do that for you.. just like the flash is on top of your camera..

should have full range of shutter speeds..

my 1/400 and 1/500 is needing tuning, but 1/640 and beyond is perfect..
