Its from the shoot. Don't know if this is it or not. Got some cool stuff with the halo and rayflash combined.

Need to make some decisions.....

that rayflash design is so so cool.. why didn't we come up with that?

Nice job, pridash. I really like the 2nd one, but I would crop some off the top. On that last shot, the looks are priceless. Great work. I can't wait to try these kind of shots with our new baby due in July.

Thanks Royboy! And look forward to seeing your shots!

Like Mark.....I was learning light and didn't have any subjects. I had to volunteer YIKES!...

One of the best ways to learn is to do self-portraits - the subject never gets impatient, never complains and is not concerned about misfires or the amount of time you spend chimping! ;)

Slicer,

I like this shot! When I practice lighting on myself I figure if I can make myself look somewhat good, then I can make anyone look good. Lol.

Thanks Mark, and how true....I've gotten to taking notes as I practice to get it nailed down.

So my B800, stand, boom arm, and cybersyncs came in today!
But one problem,
the power adjusting slider doesn't work :/
I took a shot at 1/32 and a shot at 1/1 and they are exactly the same.
I emailed Paul C Buff to see what's up. I'm sure I'll get taken care of.

Here is my first OCF shot, EVER! As of now it's also my favorite. I know I've got a lot to work on but I think this is a start.

I use a Canon Rebelt XTi and already own a 580ex flash, what would be the benefits or NOT of buying a 430ex vrs a couple vivitar 285s? To all the OCF shooters,,,

You will get great results with either set up but personally I would rather have 2 or 3 285s over one 430ex. You should look into older Nikon flashes. I picked up an SB-25 for $85 and it's wayyyy nicer than a 285.

Wow - first OCF shot and you're already using a snoot! I wish I was that advanced when I took my first shot!

Cool shot - well done!

Big truck
I'm springfield too. PM me and I might be able to help if you need access to some gear for the wedding. (include a phone number)

Just want to throw out a huge public thank you to Gonzogolf. I posted my MacGyvered rig with some decent results shots on here the day I was supposed to leave town to shoot a friends wedding, because I haven't had the funds to buy myself umbrellas and stands. I've got strobes, triggers, and ball bungees out the yin yang, but nothing to put 'em on.

So Gonzo sees my post and although he has no idea who I am or what kind of person I am, offers to let me use some of his gear to take down to the Ozarks in Missouri to get the job done. I felt great, being able to actually look like I knew what I was doing, and my results were great!

So, huge thank you to Gonzogolf, and a big kudos to the photography community as a whole, because I doubt that this is the only time something like this has happened. I think we all feel like we're in the same boat together, and are all willing to help out another photographer in need.

Big thanks!

The attached photo is a rough edit, btw...
