Need to make some decisions.....

Great work. I can't wait to try these kind of shots with our new baby due in July. Thanks Royboy! And look forward to seeing your shots! One of the best ways to learn is to do self-portraits - the subject never gets impatient, never complains and is not concerned about misfires or the amount of time you spend chimping! When I practice lighting on myself I figure if I can make myself look somewhat good, then I can make anyone look good. Lol. Thanks Mark, and how true....I've gotten to taking notes as I practice to get it nailed down. Flickr

To all the OCF shooters,,, You will get great results with either set up but personally I would rather have 2 or 3 285s over one 430ex. You should look into older Nikon flashes. I picked up an SB-25 for $85 and it's wayyyy nicer than a 285. Canon 5DII| 35L | 16-35LII |24-70L |70-200 F/2.8 IS LII | Alien Bees | CPS Member

(include a phone number) Just want to throw out a huge public thank you to Gonzogolf. I posted my MacGyvered rig with some decent results shots on here the day I was supposed to leave town to shoot a friends wedding, because I haven't had the funds to buy myself umbrellas and stands. I've got strobes, triggers, and ball bungees out the yin yang, but nothing to put 'em on.
