I wasn't sure whether to put this here or in the "Presentation" section. I ended up putting it there, but since it's about Performing Arts pictures I thought I'd put a link here: https://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=654037

It's about a presentation tool from Microsoft called Deep Zoom Composer. I couldn't find it in these forums, and it's pretty cool.

A (poor) example is at http://www.stagepics.co.uk/sp2 (external link)

Silverlight is an official Microsoft product.

In case you were thinking it was some shady software (well, since MS put it out, you may think it is even more so now).

I know Silverlight. Installed it once, and removed it immediately after viewing a (similar I think) presentation. Not about to install this until I need it. ;)

Just for interest, why? Are you worried it slows down browser statup, or is it something else?

Well, let's see ... I just read a story about how Netflix is forcing instant video customers to install Silverlight for this service. Upon installing Silverlight, WMP no longer works and there is no way to remove Silverlight in this case. Even if not true, only partially true, wholly untrue but possible, it seems to make no sense whatsoever to install software to see a demonstration of something, particularly when the something isn't even a something that you sought out in the first place ... and that's why I'm not even mildly interested as I work very hard to keep my machines running and don't need to be installing every piece of software that comes along. Hmmm, seems to me that's a very standard warning the computer security people give. :-)

I had a hard time removing it last time IIRC.
No software does that to me twice ;)
