I put the PW to my camera and the 580ex on a stand 5ft or so away. I put the PW on both and channel 1. I put the 580ex on ETTL, master, channel 1. I turned both on and tried to get the 580ex to fire. I also tried putting the 580ex on slave. Jeni

The pocketwizard plus II transceiver acts as a receiver and a transmitter. The 580EXII is not compatible with the pocketwizard alone. You need to buy another pocket wizard transceiver to hook up to the 580EXII to allow off camera triggering to work. Brian C - Alpha Auto Spa
