Went to the Butte Humane Society to take pictures for an upcoming story on the overflow of dogs they have for adoption. It was a pretty sad place, i tried to reflect that in the pictures. most of the dogs were scared of people and had obviously been through some abuse. Anyways, here's the pics, let me know what you think.

I can't go to the pound without bursting into tears...I want to take them all home. These are pretty effective shots!

Awww... good for you for doing these. #2, 3 and 8 best seem to reflect the theme, #6 looks too happy.

There looks as though there's a few characters there, hope they get great homes soon. How olds Cordellia? Bless her.

Thanks glad you like them. It was a pretty dismal place, and sad to see that many dogs in there. IDK how old Cordellia is, she was pretty old though, she's a sweetheart.

Myself and my significant other's family do a lot with animal rescue and shelters. It truly is sad to see the amount of pets these shelters are currently housing. Your pictures are great -- I hope they help persuade some folks into adoption. Thank you for sharing and thank you for your help with the homeless animals! They appreciate it :)

I too have a soft spot for animals.
I truly hope these great pictures help adopt out some (all) of these animals.

I hope you sent these out to get them adopted. Nice pictures, but I hate to see pics like this even as happy as then look.

Great pictures, but I really feel sorry for ALL dogs in these shelters. I hope they feel companionship between themselves.

Very good pictures, even though they are very hard for me to look at (which is the point I think). I really wish people would realize how many amazing dogs that need homes are out there before they support the breeder/puppymill/pet store cycle.

Thanks, glad people like em' and good to see it got the message across. They will be run in the paper tomorow, maybe even cover, so hopefully they can encourage some people to help out.

I completely agree, i got my dog from the pound and he's pretty much my best friend. . I will always get my animals from a shelter and hope others would too.
