Decided to wake up early and watch the sunrise during at least one day of my vacation. I got an ND filter for christmas and wanted to try it out. Saw this sea wall and planted the right side of my camera on the ledge and support the other half with my hand. This was my second attempt, first one was all shaky.

I also found that it is extremely hard to compose the shot with the filter on... Wish i had a tripod... then i could have compsed with filter off and then just put the filter on. I ended up turning the live preview on having it simulate exposure.

Thanks, i was really happy that i got one as a gift. It's one of those purchases that you don't really need but would really like so you keep putting it off.

Nice, great color. I love the shallow dof. I always like seeing great pictures taken with the 40D, keeps me from blaming the camera.
