Not sure if this is the right place to ask. Does anyone use the cinch strap
http://www.lumiquest.com/products/cinch-strap.htm (external link) for the lumiquest promax or other Lumiquest products? My problem is i use a Better beamer as well as my promax on my 580exII. The stick on velcro gets in the way of my better beamer so i was wondering if the cinch strap works very well. If you use the cinch stap will it hold the promax in place without sliding around or falling off? Any DIY to make your own cinch strap?

I use the cinch strap on my EX flashes with the ProMax System and have not had an issue. It stays in place.

Thanks Titus ! I guess I'll order one. I can't find one local, all the local shops in Michigan are dropping like flies . The most recent was around for 54 years.I'll miss going to the candy store :D

I have a cinch strap and a couple HonlPhoto Speed Straps. Both do the same thing and work just fine. They grip and don't slip.

Same here - I love the cinch strap!! I am sure somebody could DIY a strap but for the price, I personally didn't mind buying instead of building. I recommend the strap for any modifier that uses velcro.

Peace
Mark

I have 3 or 4 and they work fine.

Too bad the shipping is almost the price of the product... :)

Both the cinch strap and the Honlphoto straps work great. Cinch strap with the lumiquest gel filter kit works I think a bit nicer the the Honlphoto stuff.

How do you like the Lumiquest filter kit. I just stick velcro on mine and attache them that way. Never had an issue so far.

OK...OK... I know I'm cheap! I couldn't see spending 7 bucks for one of these and 5 bucks shipping. So I made my own. I used some non slip drawer liner stuff I had left over from when I lined the drawers in my tool chest. This stuff is kind of thick but doesn't slip at all. Some thin neoprene would have been better.I also had some sticky backed velcro (hook and loop) laying around. So the project started, total time to make was about 5 minutes. I used a 10 inch strip of the loop (velcro) and a 9 inch strip cut to the same width as the velcro of the rubber drawer liner and stuck it on. On the last inch I stuck (sticky side to sticky side) a 1 inch piece of the hook (velcro). DONE! I tried it on my 580exII with my pro-max and it works great. When I need to order some stuff from B&H I'll order the real thing ,but this will hold me over for awhile.
