Hi guys,

I was lucky enough to be able to walk to the Wareham stage of the Sunseeker rallye from my wifes parents house this weekend. This was my first go at shooting a rallye and there was a bit of trial and error. I took two lenses with me, my 70-200mm f2.8 L IS, and my 10-22mm. Mostly stuck with the 70-200 though had a little play with the 10-22 that gave some great shots!

Anyway, any C&C completely welcome and appreciated ;-)a I'd like to know what to do differently for next time.

Thanks,
Nick.

#5 is bit mad. Seen some footage on Utoob, looks a nice location you found there.

Of the bunch I like #4 the most however since you asked for C&C I would say reduce your shutter speed. 1/4000 (selected by Aperture Priority mode !) is too fast imo... maybe Shutter Priority mode would be better (TV) say around 1/400sec if your feeling a bit wobbly heh :) It would just give a bit of motion to the wheels and background. I know your shots have a feeling of motion from the spray/dust but you would still get sharp shots and you could reduce your ISO (less noise).

Thanks Azza. just found the youtube vid :-)

Thanks for the advice for next time. I recon I was using the water that the cars were going through as a bit of a crutch as it gives the sence of speed that otherwise would be a lot more motionless... Getting the ISO down would be good though I found IQ on the hi-res versions to be really good, even on the iso 800 shots which impressed me... though lower the better I fully agree ;-)a

I have a few more good ones of the landy so will post later... just a shame I don't have a full sequence as I bottled it once it was half in and jumped back! pic #5 is from when I regained my footing and continued shooting :-) I was close but not that close so should have stayed where I was... just didn't know what sort of momentum it would have.

Will be back next year for sure.

Nick.
