To anyone in New York

There is an ad on Craigslist for a 1d2n for $1k. I figured that it was a scam, so I emailed the guy "how many actuations" and he responded with Aux data says around 47k. The emails are coming from a legit photography place, so I'm figuring that this is for real. Just wanted to give a heads up in case anyone is interested.

Did you run a route trace on the email?
This can be spoofed very easily.

thanks tada .. I was looking at the NIB 50D camera .. but the dude didnt have the receipt and didnt know anything about the camera .. I still went out to meet him but he never showed up and didnt answer my follow up questions .. BTW it was 1150 w/ lens!

I didn't do a whole ton of research on him, but considering that when I emailed him and we had both talked about a face to face, figured it was legit. Since I don't need a 1d2, I thought one of you guys may want to give it a look and do some of the foot work. Let me know if one of you guys end up getting it.

Are you sure it isn't a Mark II? Price would point in that direction, and even then it is a great deal.

If it is a IIn, I'd be cautious. It seems if they can verify shutter count, they have access to also do a search for current price. They are asking $500-$600 less than the going price, a full 1/3 of its used value. It doesn't make sense when reading between the lines.
