Hey
im looking for a new bag for my laptop and camera as i need one i can take on a plane and for college

I only have a Canon 20D (gipped bt can remove the grip if needs be), 18-55 and 50 1.8 (soon getting a sigma 24-70 2.8 tho)
i also only have an MSI wind 10" screen laptop so its nice and small

preferably you can remove the inserts so i can use it to hold my school folders when not using it as a camera bag

shoulder style bag
ive seent he think tank urban disguise but i dont ike the look of it and i cant find any others that seem to fit my needs

if only i could afford an 8MD Home
i live in the UK and would like to keep it less than £30 if possibly but can go more

thanks
rogan

You will have a bunch of options here. I use a Naneu Pro Military Ops Tango that would meet all of your requirements. I use it to carry a kit when traveling for work. Has not failed me yet.

Tango:

It might be a bit large so you could also look at the Sierra as well which is a bit smaller.

Good luck.

There's the Tenba that would work and not doubt the Domke F803 could be modified to work. You have to get inserts anyway. I know the Crumpler 7MDH would work for that setup. When I went to a brick & mortar college and wanted to carry my camera, no camera bag was meant for that. Instead I got a Crumpler laptop bag and made it work for my camera and books and any other necessities.

I have one of the Amvona bags- it's huge!!! I can fit a 15" laptop plus 2 bodies, and like 5 lenses including a 70-200 f2.8 and 24-70 f2.8 in it.

Not the F-803. It's a bit small for anything but a Netbook. Maybe an F-802, but if I were carrying a standard laptop, I'd use the F-804, or an F-7AF, with the 720-230 3-compartment insert. Apparently Domke's coming out with a new laptop/camera bag soon but I don't know a lot more than that ATM.

You could get Domke inserts from Amazon UK. No padding on the bottom though as that is included in the Domke bags. But you could rig something I'm sure.

I have the Kata 465, without the laptop section. I didn't need it then. But the Kata 467 is the right choice. It's laptop compartment is plenty big for your computer, but I fear the gripped 20D will be a tight squeeze. I can just fit my 5D with 24-70 attached in the camera compartment and zip it up. You may have to put the lenses in the upper compartment to fit the camera with lens in the lower camera compartment.

I've got a DR467 and so far it seems pretty cool. I also have a Crumpler 5MDH for when I want to travel light. I got the 467 for a carry on when I fly, I like the idea of keeping the laptop and camera with me at all times.

I have the Lowepro Fastpack 250. It's perfect for my kit, which is roughly the same size as yours. I can bring my XTi, 10-20, 24-60, 55-200, and chargers/acc, plus my 15.4" widescreen Laptop, and still use the upper section for random stuff.

I've used it for a carry on through airports, hiking trails, travelling and walking around cities, and as a normal backpack. It has a nice padded back, decent size, and the side access means you can flip it around on one shoulder and pull your camera right out (hence the name "fastpack"). Overall, it's an extremely functional bag and backpack that has served me well.
