Do any of you know of a printer that prints double sided automatically and at least 11x17 prints? It does not necessarily need to be a photo printer.

Thanks
Stefan

check out xerox phazer laser printers with duplex capabilities. they take a dry ink similar to a crayon and you can get paper trays for different size prints. however, they are not cheap, i use the older 8400 model and it makes beautifull prints.

There are quite a few out there, although they are more expensive. Look for an "A3" printer with duplex. I am most familiar with the laser options - if you want color they do get pretty pricey.

Here are some of the toner based (laser or LED) printers:

Lexmark W840 - Mono - about $2300
Lexmark C935 - Color - About $3200

Xerox Phaser 5550 (Need DN model for Duplex) - Mono - About $2700
Xerox Phaser Phaser 7400 (Need DN model for Duplex) - Color (LED) - About $3000
Xerox Phaser 7760 - Color - About $5000

I am not as familiar with the HP offerings - A3 is not as big a market for them. Although I am pretty sure they have a couple. I would not really consider any of the models to be "Photo" printers. The technology is just not as good as Inkjet or Dye Sub for photos.

Just remember that if you are planning to print photos then most photo paper is one sided.
