So he’s using a fisheye lens and a 360-degree tripod, but I’m really curious to know what kind of stitching algorithm he’s using. Anyone have any ideas?

The circular effect can be achieved in Photoshop, I believe. There's a few here who know the way it's done but I have not attempted this before so I'm unsure of the process.
