What happened it last couple of days its that many people thought that new 1D MIV will come out so they rushed with the sale.
Anyway I think that 1D Mark III will have trouble holding its price for a long time like 1D MII and MIIN did. Especially that Canon announced more AF issues than they already fixed => another firmware update.

man if the original AF issues didn't kill the resale of the 1d mark III i don't think this latest canon announcement will do any harm. neither of my 1d bodies exhibit this softness with off-center points, and i sure haven't heard any talk about it like the original AF problems or the 5d II black dots.

maybe some are selling because they think a mark 1v will be released....i recall that happening with the 5d about a year before the 5d II was released. i sold my 5d around that time and prices were very low but then rebounded later.

Approximate debut dates: Dec 2001 1DM, Apr 2004 1DM2, Mar 2007 1DM3. Based on these dates, a 1DM4 would debut in 2010. That's my guess.

yeah, the Mk III's are dropping in price, same with all of the other 1D's. The MkII's can be found for under a grand, the N's around 1300 and yes, the MK III's are the same price the N's were last year. I saw even before the year ended that some were being sold for 2800 or less with accessories. 1700 is a crazy price though.

I've noticed a downward trend on the 1DM2s, 1DM2Ns and 1DM3s in the last two weeks on selling forums and in the used section of the big internet guys. I guess all tech loses value at some rate.

Been watching these cameras in various forums -- it looks like the prices are crashing. Whats up?

Hey there Matt! Long time no see! Talking of which, I see from your Avatar that your baby is still with The Mother Ship.......no news there? Any withdrawal symptoms kicking in?

Apart from that, how have you been? I've missed your cutting humour and swift-as-a-rapier wit!!!
:D
