Hey guys!

I am about to swap out all my rechargeable batterys fairly soon. My current lot is older than the 15 minute charge technology, so I have no experience with them. Does anybody have an opinion in the fast recharge ones? They charge fast.... but do they last in the device?

I may just get a set of Enloops. But do not really need the top line. I allways have back ups so extreeme life is not that important. I just dont want to be changeing them every 15 minutes if they die as fast as they charge.

The tradeoff with fast recharging is it gets the batteries hot, which can reduce their life expectancy. As a technology though, it's less a battery thing than it is a charger thing. You can use any batteries in the fast chargers, or in regular (slow) chargers.

I have a Rayovac 15 Minute Charger, and while I'm impressed with its performance so far, I don't expect it to last long. I now reserve this only for traveling or for urgent situations. For normal, non-urgent use, I'm now gone all Eneloop with the La Crosse BC900 Charger.

Batteries hate heat. 15 minute chargers create more heat than the battery can naturally dissipate into the air...bad. If you have a fan-cooled charge, it is less bad.

My fast charger has this little computer fan sucking the hot air off the batteries at an excellent pace.
