I am new to this and this will be my first photo. These guys are part of a horse pulling contest that I attended a couple of weeks ago here in Florida.
This is a team of heavyweights. (means their combined weight is over 3,500 lbs.

Holy crap those are some massive horses!!

I think the shot would have been more interesting if you would have been able to compose it so you can see what they are pulling.

Shooting in light like that is always challenging. Try and find angles that let the sun work to your advantage. Easier said than done, but something to consider when you are looking for a place to set up to shoot.

This is what they pull. The 3,000 on the side is the weight that they start at.

In that case, I actually think it works better without the truck in the first photo.

It's a nice image of some incredibly powerful animals. I think you could make it even better by increasing saturation and contrast.

Nice shot, but the chimney/tower in the background suggests your horizon isn't level, so they look like they're pulling downhill.

Yep, sure does look like they are pulling downhill... it was level as could be I guess I was tilted a bit. Never noticed that. Would not even have thought to look for it.
Told you I was new to this :)
