Decided to play around with my soft boxes tonight. Both are from the same shot, B&W conversion done in DPP with more contrast adjustments in Gimp after JPEG conversion.

Rebel XS, 50mm f/1.8 II, f/8, iso100, 1/5 ss

Actually it's a used replacement stock. The original cracked while shooting one day. I stripped the new one and refinished it, that's why it looks so clean...lol

I'm glad to see another high-tech, expensive "studio" like I have! :lol: Nice shots, good looking rifle there too. But Silver Bear in a Garand?! :confused: How do they shoot in it? (other than dirty, that's a given! :cool:)

I like the image, but with the color versions that ammo just jumps up and screams "NO!" to me. The B&W version takes care of that nicely.

Yeah, I really wish I had some nice surplus brass case, copper jacket ammo for the picture.

I think I'm going to re-shoot this. I'm going to get an American flag for the backdrop and some surplus ammo for the clips so they don't stand out as much.
