the second hand price may be higher than the new price i bought at ,
surely this now classifys me as a wise investor rather than that idiot that spends all his money on camera stuff?

I'd like to think so, I'm in the same boat. I picked this up about a year ago, before the prices jumped. I'm glad I did. I love this lens.
