The auction camera details list it at 12mp. Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the Mk1 12mp and the MK2 24 or something?

You are right, but not sure if ebay lets you say 24mp.

I asked the seller for a photo of the camera and a copy of the receipt. He hasnt replied.

Well its done now, My experience with ads like these is either scam or bait and switch.
Everything pointed to 5DII but the 12 MP listed in the specs. Numbers may have been backwards as 5DII is 21MP, note most of the other specs omitted.

Went for 2087.99€ in the end. I didnt get any reply from the seller. Seems expensive for 5D + 580 if that is what it was. Seems really cheap if it was a real 5D MK II. Guess we will never know.
