Does anyone have any comments about the Gitzo Systematic Head GH5380S <Click Here (external link)> versus other heads?

For what purpose? What tripod are you putting it on? What heads are you comparing it to? I think you would have to have a need for that head. 1.5 lbs!

I am considering a number of heads like the Arca Swiss Z1. I haven't seen anything in the archives about the Gitzo Systematic head so I just wanted to get some feedback about how it would compare to other heads.

I am leaning towards a Series 3 Gitzo tripod: either a Systematic (GT3531S) or a Mountaineer (GT3531).

Thanks.

The systematic head won't fit a mountaineer tripod AFAIK.

You are correct, the systematic head would only be for the systematic tripod (GT3531S).
Thanks.
