Bob..to answer your question I used the 100-400mm at 330mm. I think I was about 30-40 ft away but I am a terrible judge of distance. I am attaching an image right out of the camera showing how big the crop was. I have yet to get a full screen with a bird and if I ever did would probably faint. LOL! Also you can clearly see that I need to have my camera cleaned.

Wow Rose, you've been posting some beautiful shots lately!

We get a lot of close shots of our yardbirds, but I'd be delighted to get a Meadowlark at any distance. These are excellent!
