Wolves!

Hi All

This is my first post here, However, I have been reading this forum for quite a while now and have learned alot, you guys are great!
This photo was taken at Wolf Park in Battleground, Indiana: www.wolfpark.net/
In the spring and fall they have photo seminars where you can go into the enclosure WITH the wolves for an up-close and personal experience!
By the way, this wolf's name is "Chetan".

This photo was taken with my antique Canon Powershot Pro90is!
Settings: 1/320sec. F4.0 197mm ISO100

They do seem scary when someone has there arm around them.

Sounds like a cool experience. Is there a class involved or just the ability to get some shooting experience?

Nice shot, no way would I ever hug one of those things. They look friendly but I wouldn't trust one.

This is the second time my wife and I have visited Wolf Park and the first time we met the wolves we were quite nervous! These animals have been raised by humans, but they are still considered "wild". when we visited the park again in March we were much more comfortable around them.

The photo seminar is hosted by nature photographer, Monty Sloan, Before entering the wolf enclosure there is a orientation on how to behave around the wolves and then a slide show and discussion detailing technical tips about photographing the wolves...

then into the enclouser for 4 hours with the main pack consisting of 7 wolves! It is really a great experience! Here are 2 more photos of the wolves interacting with the "humans"!

Oh man! I really really want to do this. I know another guy (hey Scott, you lookin?) that would give up body parts to be there too.

Take pictures of wild animals in a controlled environment where you can gain experience and get some shot that you would never get any where else? I don't know, why would anyone want to do this.

Ya'll ain't seen some of the women I've dated. These guys are a heck of a lot less dangerous and prettier:o:o:o:o
