I got my T-mount for my camera to attach to my little newly used ETX-90 2 weeks ago, but it's been raining hard non-stop. Tonight was the 1st chance I got and snapped this bit of interstellar dirt hanging overhead. These are the actual colors (with saturation bar on steroids). Enjoy!

Great shots are like great parking spaces... if you're not quick, it's gone!

There's no cropping/stretching. It wasn't a full moon and a part of the moon's dark side isn't in the photo, so I guess we'll call it an optical illusion.

It does look a bit stretched, but it's probably an optical illusion. Sometimes, if the field isn't flat, it can cause this type of stretching I believe (I'm new to astro imaging, so I'm probably wrong anyways).

I like the colours, how did you get them? I've seen only a few shots like yours with these types of colours, most have been similar to my recent shot from last night.

Thanks Dave. :D I took the original raw to photoshop, adjusted a bit of contrast, cloned the base layer, bumped up the base layer's saturation to 95, changed the new layer's blending to luminosity, found it to be a tad washed out still, so cloned the saturated layer and set blending to multiply. Finally I adjusted the non-saturated layer's (the top layer) opacity and fill down a bit till I was happy with the colors and brightness.

There's no set way to do it, so experiment and adjust it till it looks good to you. ;)
