Finally got to the Norfolk Botanical Garden for the very first time (thanks to Duane for sharing his spot :D )

NFB closes at 5 and I got there at 3:30 so the lighting was a bit harsh...went to the observatory and could see one of the eagles heads just popping out above the nest but nothing that really lent itself to shooting...especially when a family with like 5 small kids made their way on the deck and the parents let the kids jump around like jack rabbits creating all sorts of shake....so around 4ish my wife and I start to walk down and around and an eagle flew up into a tree about 150' away :D unfortunately he always had his back to me for the 30 minutes he stuck around before flying off...here are a few of the shots...If I find any more that are worth it I will process and post them later but any and all C&C (especially with regards to PP) would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I changed the WB from as shot in the camera to auto(which looked almost exactly the same as daylight)

I see you captured the male...was he in the camera tree when these were taken? You did well considering the harsh light (side lit). I like the WB in the last image.

Considering the conditions you were dealing with, these are quite nice. The last one is the best.

few things...

1.
Location: i walked down the observatory and turned right out of it and followed the path around and over the water to where it was blocked off and just pass that paved area that heads into the woods is where he flew into a tree(so I dont think there was a camera)

2. How can you tell it is a male :paperbagovermyhead:

3. I also like the WB in the final image and might go back and re-process the other images the same way.

4. Thanks for the kind words (the light was harsh but at least i was lucky enough he showed up and I could get some shots)

5. when we were leaving the family with all the kids were at the fountain area ...well the kids were crawling around in the fountain that didnt have any water in it and gathering up all of the coins they could hold...the mom said to her husband, "that can't be lucky to let them do that"....I was so pissed but didnt say anything to them because I was going to say something to someone in the visitor center but by the time i got to the door it was 5:05 and it was locked and there wasnt anyone to tell...i really hope those parents made the kids put the change back but for some reason I bet they didnt.

OK...that must have been around the old nest tree side of the area. The male has a smaller mouth then the female...I can tell by the opening of each mouth as to which is the male or female...plus I have close to 5K images of them....lol.

The fountain thing has happened before in front of another photographer...the parents didn't say anything to their children but the photographer sure did to the parents...and the kids put the money back into the fountain.

thank you...i tried to use the brush to adjust the exposure on the right side of his head...i think it came out better but maybe I will post a crop of the head prior to the PP and a crop after to show the difference and get some feedback

Congrats on the Eagle shots, we don't see many around here and you were fortunate to get some good shots.

I reprocessed the images with the same WB setting as the last image...
