Cat and Maggie
QUOTED IMAGE

Cat and the mad bomber as bokeh

Terri behaving badly (you'll have to get her to tell you the story...it's quite funny)

Terri saving the day (we lost the others and I didn't have my phone)

That is a great picture of Cat and Maggie.

Glad to hear Dora is getting better. What did you buy? John bought me a lemur statue that is made with Tagua Nut while he was at the Zoo today, having a POTN meet. John had Mike and Kim, who contacted John about his Zoo photography article and he met up with them today while I worked.

Thanks. See my links above ^^ :D
Can't wait to see some shots from John's weekend....really more so of the airshow  :D

Here's a small little portion of this weekend....we spent MAYBE 20 minutes "in studio" with this family...there were 2 brothers. Some of the cutest kids ever.

That is a great shot Diane. Love the color combination.

That's great. I love labs.

Honestly this was one of the best weekends we've had in ages. It's amazing too, several actual strangers (though not really) spending 3 days in a small house together could have gone so wrong...but it was like having friends you'd known & loved for years. We laughed and laughed and laughed. I just can't imagine how it could have been more fun. :)Anyway, just thought (before I go nap since I'm absolutely exhausted from staying up so late every day) I'd say send "travel thoughts" and we had the bestest time!

That is so nice Lisa

Permagrin wrote in post #7527191 (external link)
well I hate this photo of myself but like it of everyone else...so...this was our last night together...and we all wore the shirts Marian made us

It's time for yet another Christopher rant!

Great rant. I really like the one of him with Christine.

Hey guys.. sorry for not catching up, been pretty darned busy over the weekend.Managed to clear out a huge amount of crap and fill in the subsidence hole in the lawn caused by the apple trees sucking up all the water.Plenty of worms on offer for the robins though...[

Great shots. Most bird books would be lucky to have shots as fine as yours.

okay some things I learned about my nikons this weekend. First, 4000 iso is really usable. 2nd, I'm not as good at manually focusing as I want to be. Too bad cuz I bungled some friend shots.

I wonder what the keeper rate should be. I think we set high expectations knowing what modern cameras can do. I was shooting races today and it is a wonder they used to shoot them full manual. I guess using smaller apertures will allow a little error in focus as far as they have a wider DOF.

Permagrin wrote in post #7528779 (external link)
I took 11 shots (as a 360 pano) of St. Mary's Catholic Church. I had to stitch it together in 3 sets because it was too hard for photo shop. Then I stitched those 3 sets together to make the one big pano. I lost about 60 degrees of the pano doing this but...Anyway, it was shot on iso 4000 and only a light nr was needed. I'm not worried about shooting in dark churches anymore. (external link)

Wow. I have Canons for sale. I wish

Permagrin wrote in post #7529244 (external link)
well I figure the photos people will mostly want to see are the friends shots so: (and excuse the softness...I'm still learning my lenses) These are from yesterday...guess I'm working backwards.

Thanks Lisa! You did a lovely job with them.

A funny story...

We went to a vineyard, and went in to do a little wine tasting. :D

We talked to the lady there for a little while, and Mike told her that we were a group of photographers that had gotten together for the weekend to do some shooting.

Fast forward to a little later, when I am on my 4th or 5th ( ) sample, and everyone at once decides it would be a great idea to take a picture of that. But we had all left our cameras in the cars for this part of the day, so they all pull out their cell phones.
I busted up and said, "yeah, that is great. Mike just told her that we are a group of photographers.. and look at you all with your cell phone cameras, HAHAHAHA"

I have at least 2 shots of you with the wine glass bottoms up. Terri can I post them?:D

Caught up. *sits at bar* I could do a Gatorade special if anyone is serving.

Thanks Lisa. I've never heard of that ball head either, but I was on a budget, couldn't find any reviews on it and it has the same features as similarly constructed ball heads that are 3 or 4 times more expensive. So I thought what the hay.
