okay, one more. This is the only decent sky shot I have, the view from Vista House

*hums along to Drops of Jupiter*

Beautiful view from the vista house Terri. I remember going there as a kid. It had a gift shop and snack bar. My mom bought me a little drum, it was very cool. I pounded on it in the car for about 10 minutes after we left, then she took it away.:lol::lol:

El Centro, CA? That's the only one I know

There's an El Centro, Texas... It's down near Brownsville.

Oh man....that would be an awesome show to attend. I like that guy's water mark. I need to come up with one and would like something as cool as that. Curiously, I went to the TBird and BA sites to check who was coming this year to the airshow and it appears that we will not have either  again! Unless by chance, Randolph AFB will have the air show on October 31st to November 1st. I may have to go to the other Texas shows just to see the Blue Angels perform. The Thunderbirds don't even have a Texas show scheduled as of today.

The Blues are better anyway...

Ok, I just watched yesterday's Ghost Whisperer, and I dislike this season even more than ever. We're supposed to believe that's the first time Jim/Sam has ever looked at himself in the mirror?!?

I thought everyone else saw him as Sam and the only only one saw him as Jim was Melinda...

3Turner wrote in post #7524813 (external link)
That was the first time Jim looked at himself as Sam in the mirror. Prior to this show, it was Sam's memory with Jim snippits looking in the mirror. When he had the near death experience under water, all those Jim memories flashed in and he "became" Jim again in Sam's body which was the first time he saw it.

We recorded that episode but haven't watched it yet. Now I'm going to be even more confused.

Robert what were you texting Cat about that involved guns and underwear? Dan apparently said that must be from Zane:lol:

Guns and Underwear? Is that a new band?

What's next? Toupees for infant boys?

short5 wrote in post #7525417 (external link)
See you Paula.

Terri and Cat are lurking but can't get on. Keeps timing out.

I told you their router was going to have a nervous breakdown...

Curt is still trying to learn all the commands. He was shooting Friday night with the 100-400. He said yesterday after processing, "Honey, I need some L glass".:D To which I replied, "That's what I've been say'n."

Ummm... I hate to tell you this, but the 100-400 is an L lens.

Can't wait to see some shots from John's weekend....really more so of the airshow  :D

DoodleBunz wrote in post #7531000 (external link)
I too can't wait to see what John came up with from the weekend!

Over 900 shots from the airshow (God knows when I'll get those processed...) but only 75 from today. I spent more of my time talking instead of shooting...

Time for me to head out. I need to shut down the other computer, do the litter boxes and head to bed. Have to take my friend to his tax appointment tomorrow morning.

John

GWE!!!!

BearLeeAlive wrote in post #7518419 (external link)
In our room, resting up before heading out for dinner. Had a great meeting with the guys making our wee trailer, might stop in on Sunday before we fly out.

I just scanned for pics. Zane, good ones of your meet with Mike & Robert, and the ones I guess sent to you by the Oregon contingent.

OKAY.....CONFESSION TIME
Has anyone ever forgot a memory card, spare battery, bag, lens, cleaning supplies, anything like that? Well I never this time either.
WELL......I have you all beat. I went to go into my camera pack so I could shoot a Great Blue Heron posing nicely in a stream right by the road.
IT SEEMS.....that I forgot my flippin' camera.......
I feel nekkid....Fortunately we do have the G10 with us

BearLeeAlive wrote in post #7522299 (external link)
Done with breakfast and a local stroll, off for the rest of the day now.

CAMERA WOES (Part 2)
It seems when Lisa packed up the G10 (her camera), she never brought the charger, and the battery is almost dead. Darn forgetful woman.
So, I am going to have to buy a spare as soon as the camera shops open (15 minutes) and have them charge it up.
Sure hope this is not one of those 'bad luck comes in 3's' things.

BearLeeAlive wrote in post #7526689 (external link)
After finally getting a charged battery for the G10, I hardly got any shots anyway, it rained almost steady yesterday. Instead of spending lots of time outside as planned, we went shopping and looking at all the neat shops around. A good day, nonetheless.

Well, you were in Vancouver.. What did you expect? Being able to be there and not have any rain? You should know that's not possible!

Skrim17 wrote in post #7522733 (external link)
I am buying DH an ipod touch, the rest will be packed away for a rainy day

Aaawwww! Thank you SO much!! What a nice surprise!

Well, they are on the road again.

Honestly this was one of the best weekends we've had in ages. It's amazing too, several actual strangers (though not really) spending 3 days in a small house together could have gone so wrong...but it was like having friends you'd known & loved for years. We laughed and laughed and laughed. I just can't imagine how it could have been more fun. :)

Anyway, just thought (before I go nap since I'm absolutely exhausted from staying up so late every day) I'd say send "travel thoughts" and we had the bestest time!

Looks like you guys had tons of fun in the upper left corner of the States (AK excepted...). I enjoyed all the crazyness shots ;-)a

How to get knocked out cold. Horse and rider were fine. I will post nice pictures too but that was pretty dramatic.

OOh.. Glad everyone involved is okay. One thing I'm curious about... what's with the horse's coat? It looks almost two-tone...

Being totally honest, the "white" trees in the first one are distracting, but otherwise its a super cool shot, and I can't wait to see your other plays with it....but this one....SUPER cool!

Very nice, #1 would be my favorite and boosting the contrast worked well. I like the path composition in #3 as well.

That would be T.D. in the background and Poppy Guy in the front.

Nice it is such a nice shot to begin with, the vignette helps accentuate the intimacy of the shot.
