Yeah, it worked great. I don't have a lot to compare it to, but it was flawless and produced some nice results. The only thing that didn't work for us (and it wasn't the kit's fault) was the cactus trigger we were using. I should have brought my pocket wizards. Those stupid things would fire 1 out of every 2-4 times. Very frustrating.
Why would anybody buy such a piece of garbage?
It's cool that you'll get to use it!
I think they look great! I'd not have known it was your first studio time.

Dude rant:
Can't quite keep up. (and the only photo I have of him before he went swimming)
He's very cute Cat! I'm glad he'll be ok after his swim...you'd think with the glue there would be a pretty good "seal" there.

That sounds very good....and time consuming
Its not too bad to make it Bobert, and so very much worth it when its finished! Usually we don't share with such a large crowd, so there's like 5 meals worth of leftovers to freeze.

I bet it is good comfort food. That's when you
need to wear your stretchy pants
Yes, could we kindly not talk about how badly I needed stretchy pants?
That is bloody cool!

Riiiight.... He's going to be as big as a house; Clifford style. HEE-UGE. More pack animal than a dog. MASSIVE. I'm talking LARGE. He's going to be able to play fetch with Rhode Island.
LOL, you're just mean.
JWright wrote in post #7580405
^^^That... Heather's parents ran into this problem when they were looking for a place to rent in Maine. Nobody would rent to them because they had a dog. Apparently landlords won't or can't rent to pit bull owners because of the liabilities involved, but Maine law prohibits them from excluding certain breeds so they just don't rent to anyone with a dog. Heather's parents have a Brittany Spaniel.
Honestly, it kinda pi$$es me off that pits get such a bad rap, because its very much the deed, rather than the breed most of the time. There ARE a few exceptions, as there is with any other breed, but all but one of the ones I've encountered have been so lurpy/lovey it was almost intolerable.

I dind't have back up equipment till my 4th wedding. I didn't have 'good' lenses till then either.
Everyone has to start somewhere.
I agree with you, as long as their bride and groom are familiar and comfortable with the skill level....then its a good place to start!
Ok that's just funny!
And so is that!

Kind of reminds me of a couple neighborhood kids who got this brilliant idea of tossing a bike chain into a power substation. Not only did they knock out the power for the whole neighborhood, the flash was so bright they they temporarily blinded themselves. Cops found them wandering in the street. They too had been drinking, lots from what i hear.
WOW! Yikes!

A few pictures:
From the Desert Woodland SP:
Lancaster Road, near the poppy reserve:
One of the rare few poppies that was trying to open up in the gusty, chilly wind (from the 24-70 -- I didn't even bother taking the 100mm macro out of the bag):
That one is GORGEOUS! Loverly!

Diane, I'm in love with that cribbage board!!
Thanks all! Tif, its actually a MINIATURE cribbage board! The "pins" in it are only slightly thicker than a sewing pin. I've not gotten to caption everything yet though, but all the little tools around the board are miniatures!
Thanks Permie! The only thing I did to the first one was add a little sharpening, and the 2nd one, that's what I was going for, for once!
Thanks, I still have lots to learn, especially with "candid" portraits, but....hopefully some day I'll learn it.

Nice shots Diane, I like the little boy with the hat.
Thanks, me too. He's a cutie! I don't know him, but something about how he interacted...gosh he was cute!
