Yep, and I got hit by both at the same exact time. Go figure! The tow truck afterwards was just the icing on the cake.

Man, that really stinks!

I am pussy willowless...

You know we can change that, right?

I scared a guy that was shopping last night/early this morn. I was just going back to my area after break... came walkin round the corner and this guy was standing there contemplating the coffee. Well, he was right at the corner too, so when I rounded the corner I almost ran into him... he jumped a couple feet I swear!!! He was sorta an interesting character to look at, but ewwww did he smell like a brewery! Me thinks he needed that coffee!!!

Ok, that's funny stuff!

LOL! No worries.

Thanks Terri.

I ordered a 10x20 standout last night. I noticed AFTER I ordered that the right most box is a tiny bit higher than the others. Oh, well.

If you'd listen to the dork once in a while, you'd know the box was off kilter! Just sayin'! :p;)

My kidlets are off to the hospital ..they are coping well , I even heard a few giggles this morning from them . I'll be glad when this is behind them .Till then could ya keep them in your thoughts today for a safe surgery and peacefulness today ..thanks in advance .

Aww, I hope everything went as smoothly as possible. :(

Hope it's detected today if there is a possibility that he has it so I don't have to make another trip again.

Ours was instant-ish a couple of weeks ago! Hopefully your doc has the same thing.

You might also run over to the Quentin Riding Club and see about practising there. They seem to have shows or fun matches most weekends, and it's practically in your back yard. If they're jumping in rings or paddocks you'll have an easier time getting multiple jumps and angles. But sure . . .

Indeed...once I have a clue how to even approach it, lol....I guess I'm too chicken for right now. I hate sucking at something. :-S

rant: WE JUST HAD ALMOST 4 MONTHS OF CONSTANT SNOW!!! Now, BEFORE THE SNOW IS EVEN GONE, we FINALLY get rain.... yeah well, it's flooding!!!!

aaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggghhhhhhhhh!

Yeeps, that sucks! Its cold here still, if that helps you feel any better, lol. Like was 20 last night.

G'morning all. It's been a slow morning. Except my focus screens came a day early so the UPS man (he's a young one this time) got a Permie pajama shock Wonder who they'll replace him with before my delivery tomorrow.

LOL, I think mine takes pity on me because I often answer in scrubby clothes with scrubby hair....he either thinks I'm speshul or so harried that he nearly hangs the rolls of fabric on the rod for me, lol.

Permagrin wrote in post #7588792 (external link)
I would never think you were asking anything in a jerky manner

Ok, good. I guess the rough morning made me want to make sure.

There are lots of reasons for different focus screens. THe main one that I know of for canon cameras (only because I'm not familiar with them...since I never changed mine out, only cleaned it) is to have grid lines on it to help with composition.

The ones like I bought are for canon too but I never used them in my canon stuff because I never did manual focus work with my canon gear.

These particular screens are made specifically for each order, according to what you want on them. They are called katz-eye and have a prism in the center that helps accurately and quickly manually focus your subject. You can have them made with gridlines and a brighter coating too. I didn't. Just because they are $105 ea. w/o all that and the D300/D700 still have their grids with any focus screen if you want.

For me, because I've now invested heavily in manual focus lenses (my two zeiss lenses cost more than some of my canon L lenses ) because I'm not liking the nikon AF primes, I need to be able to use them quickly...so I purchased the focusing screens in hopes that it will help me. I have four lenses (mf) specifically that I'd like to use in paid work with success. Hopefully this will help.

Gotcha! Makes a lot more sense now. For the most part, I like AF too much to worry. ;)

Permagrin wrote in post #7589302 (external link)
IDIDIT!IDIDIT!IDIDIT!IDIDIT!IDIDIT! I changed out both my focus screens and didn't wreck anything (cept my nerves!)

----> ME <-------- *brave little toaster*

YAY!

Permagrin wrote in post #7589401 (external link)
this is with my D300/70-200 at 1/6 of a sec (yeah I wasn't paying attention...just wanted to see if I could focus mf with an AF lens) :o (that's me in the bokeh mirror)

and then with the D700/cz85 1.4 mf (probably my favorite lens so far) At 1.4 the dof on FF is so narrow that it's gonna be a little more difficult to master this lens.

I was focused on the front left corner of this one

then I got the brilliant idea to see of I could do the others too so this is the back one

and the side one.

and it was so easy to switch from focus to focus...each shot was in quick succession to the previous. So it's much easier to use this. Definitely still gonna take some practice but hoo boy I'm off n running now!! HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE

Good deal! I do stuff like that, focus on different areas of something to just see if I can "hit" it. lol!!!

I'm the same way. It's usually on, but I'm not always watching it. I should learn to just turn it off, too.

Tell me now, how could something so cute cause you any trouble, you're just making that up. ;)
I always got a kick outta everyone telling us how well behaved and nice our kids were. Yeah, that was until they were alone with us, then they turned into little monsters.

The dork said it was off kilter although the dork didn't say HOW....I fixed the obvious horizontal trouble....you never said it was off in the vertical.

Hi folks! I got both boys to nap. The little one is still asleep.

Chet has been emailed.
