After Lonnie's comment, I don't really think it's the Black Rapid strap. I have a feeling it's because on the 40D the buttons were relocated to under the LCD screen (to accommodate the larger screen.) I've already taped over the switches on my 70-200 and 100-400 but I hope I don't have to do it on the camera too.

The only button I really have trouble with is the Set button when Live View is enabled. I always open up Live View accidently putting the camera back in the bag or when taking it out. I've gotten into the habit of disabling Live View when I don't need it.

I'm not too allergic to cat dander like it making me bed ridden. It bothers most if for instance, I pet a cat and then rub my eyes....or hang out in a house for more than 30 minutes which has cats living in there.

We took him for an evening walk (The ONLY advantage to DST) and he goes around picking flowers and handing them to his mommy (while I, the daddy get brown leaves ...) and taking various things and putting them in the little compartment of his ride-on toy. He's going to be a little nature conservator some day.

Yaaaaaay, I saved a panoramic. One thing I don't understand though are the sizes both physical and MB-wise. The original used the canon photostitch programme, but scale it down to fit in smuggy, I had to "scale" it to 10319 x 2324 to make it just under 12MB (yes i am cheap and don't have the pro account). I re-did the panoramic using Hugin, to get the blending of the colours...I had to scale that one down to 6800 x 1615 to get it just under 12MB...why so much difference in the same panoramic...beats me...answers on a postcard.

Speaking of K9's, the wife and I applied to adopt two poor animals. Not sure if any of you heard about it but there was a HUGE puppy mill in Snohomish County that got BUSTED a few months ago. The dogs have finally been released and are adoptable now. Something around 2000 dogs or more that were being kept in amazingly disgusting and loathsome conditions. So now the adoptable ones are being made available. We're hoping for the best. The hip replacement westie got adopted so we're out on that one.

Oh and vacation starts in 4 days

WOW, I had no idea that it was that bad. I have heard stories, but you know how they can get twisted. In Canada, we have a federal health system, but it is administered by the individual provinces. In Alberta, we used to pay a couple hundred a month for family coverage, it became free at the beginning of this year. It covers absolutely everything, with the exception of dental, eye care and some physiotherapy type stuff. The biggest problem we have is how long it takes to get seen. A visit to a GP can be a week, some non-life threatening (at the time anyway) operations can take a year or so, things like MRI's that are non-emergency can take months to get. Many people who can afford stuff like this, pay to get it done in the States. So, while we have pretty much full coverage, it is far from a perfect system.

This is pretty much the system that has been thrown around to put into effect for us also for a national system. The wait times is what I think will be the problem also here. It's bad enough here in the city to try and get an appointment when I am sick, usually have to wait a few days and by then, I don't need to go to the doc (non life threatening stuff usually).

As an extra side thing, you should watch Sicko, the Michael Moore docu-movie. It is really an eye opener about the "costs" to your health. They will bleed you dry of your money.

Though I agree with you on everything you posted.....I would really take anything Michael Moore says very lightly. I don't know about Sicko, but he has been exposed on some of his other docu-movies which it was proven that he would twist interviews and edit them to his benefit.

What a long day...

Took Prince to his ride this morning. Stayed with him for about half an hour while the transport lady got ready and picked up a couple cats that were going to Vegas as well. Then said goodbye, and got in my car and cried for about half an hour.
Sheesh.
We never considered keeping him, and I know that he'll get adopted soon, but it was SO hard to let him go. I really let myself get attached to him... he was just so affectionate.

They called me when he got to Vegas, they had a Vet check him out, and he does have Kennel Cough pretty bad. They gave him some meds, and will keep him overnight at the vets till tomorrow, then he'll go to his foster home.
They said they'd let me know when he gets adopted.

We'll pick up a new foster when we get home from Oregon.

He'll go to a good home I think its great that you are doing the foster thing though.

Well, I didn't mean to crop off all off the right...I did notice it, and I thought I may do another version to get it all in. This was just a tester to see how the colours would come out. Now to figure out what size to print it out on!!

99% of documentaries are one sided. The point I only wanted to show, especially to those who do not have to pay for healthcare, are the costs that are invoked, more so of how your body is valued - not about the the medicine itself, or waiting times etc.

That way you get a flavour of what we have to shell out for. Having had both systems, you can say that the favours for the US are the medicines, equipment is the latest, most times you can choose a Dr to go to without waiting for a referral etc. But with nationalised services, you can argue that everyone pays a tiny bit each into a big kitty, and anyone, no matter how rich, poor, well or ill can be seen whenever, whereever. There are no "in network" or "out of network" worries etc. So each have their plus and minus points.

Oh, and how is Dora fairing up?
