Hello fellow photographers :),
Well I have been wanting a new lens for a while and finally put the money I need aside to get the new lens I want. But that is where I get stuck. I am stuck between the Canon 10-22mm, the Canon 17-55mm (main choice as of right now) or the Canon 24-105mm. I will be shooting everywhere from cars standing still (car shows, photoshoots, etc.) to rig shots (cars) to urban life to nature/landscapes. Anywhere in that range. So if you guys can steer me in the right direction, that would be great. Just use the poll to pick which you prefer and right a good sentence-paragraph telling me why :) I would like to purchase within a week or so, so I will wait that long to get a big pool of answers so make them good :D THANKS SO MUCH guys/gals in advance!

Well you already have the 55-250, so why not have a 17-250mm combo.
I love my 17-55 so much!
It is very versatile. :)

I agree with the above. Since it looks like your lens is a telephoto, you probably won't want just the 10-22. If you already have a wide-angle lens, the 17-55 will be a great upgrade.

I love my 10-22, and I can personally use it for so much stuff. I think it is a great fit for most of what you describe wanting to shoot.

For a crop body, I really like the 17-55 range... I find 24 too narrow. I haven't actually tried the 10-22, but I haven't found myself wanting anything wider than the 17 for now.

I am a 24-105 kinda guy, but I like to shoot on the longer side and find the 17-55 range limiting and not ideal for how I like to shoot.

I have the 10-22 as well, but it is more of a "fun" lens that I do not use a lot. The 24-105 is my work horse ;)

If I could have only one lens for my DSLR it would be the 17-55. I like it so much I have two of them (plus one broken one I dropped). I take 70% of my wedding photos with this lens.

Thanks alot everyone for the reviews. I appreciate it so much!
And tim : I wish to do wedding photography sometime but I am just too afraid something will go wrong because I'm not a PRO yet. But thanks for the review, keep up the good work and good luck on the rest of your carrer!

I voted 17-55 not because I think it is a better lens but it seems the best fit for what you shoot. 24-105 is the least desirable choice for car exhibitions. 10-22 might be too slow sometimes. 17-55 seems to be ideal especially taking into account IS that just was made for such work.

call me a rebel...but i'd go for a tamron 17-50 2.8 AND a sigma 10-20mm...you can have both for less than the 17-55IS, and i don't really think you'd notice the difference in image quality too much between them and the canon options...

just my 2 cents

My vote is 17-55. Since you already have something for the longer end the 24-105 just duplicates some of that. I didn't pick the 10-22 since that lens, although a great lens, is more of a specialized lens; I use mine mostly for landscapes.
