This is my first post here. This appears to be a great resource and I will no doubt spend considerable time perusing the past post. I did a search on my need and came up empty so I am choosing to make a new post.

I’m in need of a flexible G2 case that would “stay” with the camera. This use to be done with the tripod screw on the bottom of the old SLR camera’s. I’m going to Italy for three weeks soon and I’m sure I will be taking 100’s of images. The past few years my G2 is getting a bit beat up from my laziness of not putting it back in a secure location and slinging it around as I travel and use it.

Does anyone make a case that stays attached to the G2 that is easy to put the camera back into around your neck and in and out of the car etc. and easy to unsnap that STAYS with the camera while taking the pic? Would a fanny pack type be best?? Do they make them?

Thanks for any help or suggestions. I’m sure I will spend some time and review this board to see if I should be buying a telephoto lens for the G2 for the Italy trip, or other accessories like a UV protective lens cover.

Thanks for any opinions.

Eusebius

Welcome to the forum!

If you're thinking about using filters/teleconverters, you might look for a case that will accomodate the adapter tube, since you might want to leave that connected to the camera, rather than carrying it in a seperate case.

I thought Canon made a snap-on case for the G2?

Check out the Optech D series. The D Compact, or D Offset should work well. The have a small clip that attaches to the ring on the camera/strap.

Here's a link--
