Hi,

I'm still using CS2 (it serves my needs) and yesterday I went back to an image I'd been editting on Friday.

On running CS2, a splash screen welcomed me (not seen that for a long time!). I closed that - then discovered that I had lost all the files in my "Recently Used" list.

I've also found - and this is really strange, that, whereas in the past I've always used my mouse wheel to zoom in and out of a photo - this action now no longer works - and I am forced to used the keyboards' [Ctrl] + [+] etc.

The first issue is maybe a config file got corrupt(?) and I can live with that.

... but the second issue (loss of zoom on mouse wheel) has really got me stumped! I've never made any setting in relation to the mouse wheel - but is there a setting that I can check?

I'm running on Windows XP, machine running fine, no other issues with my computer. Mouse scroll wheel works fine in other applications.

Anyone got any ideas?

Many thanks.

TJ

Yes, most likely your Photoshop Prefs file is corrupted. You can delete it and Photoshop will create a new Prefs file when its restarted. Here's a useful file for locating your Prefs file: http://www.jkost.com …op/cs2/wherethingsare.pdf (external link)

You can also delete the Prefs file by holding down the CTRL+ALT+SHIFT keystroke combination immediately after clicking the Photoshop icon. You will then be prompted to delete the Preferences files.

To use the mouse wheel to zoom, open Photoshop and go to Edit > Preferences > General and enable the "Scroll with Mouse Wheel" option.
