Ken Rockwell used to have a picture of him using a left handed Nikon. I dont know if it was for real or not though.

The camera is right side up as you can barely see part of the C from Canon that is across the top of each camera.... it's just an ad I came across while surfing.

I've just been reading a UK photo mag and by an amazing coincidence they answered a question about left-handed cameras.

Did you know that only 7-8% of the population is left handed? And that only one camera that they knew of was ever produced in a left handed version, although both Nikon and Canon have played with the concept, neither have ever bought one to market.

We are just too small a segment of the camera buying public to bother with.

Perhaps we could get Photoshop to produce one using it's "flip camera" button? What, no such button? There must be, its got everything else!

Being left handed, this of course is great interest to me. :) However, the two things I have learned to do quite well with my right hand is release the shutter on my cameras and crack the throttle on my motorcycles!

That seems strange when I consider how many left handed people I actually know.

also a lefty and honestly I like shooting the way it is. Same as I like that I shift my car with the "wrong" hand but keep the "right" hand on the wheel...

*shrug*

I'd also bet most lefties adapt better since we've had to our whole lives.

oh, and don't ask me to cut anything if I don't have lefty scissors. I either can't cut with righties in my left hand (blades get pushed apart) or I'm all over the place with the right hand.

I can say with 99.997% assurance that all pictures you see of "left handed" cameras are pictures of "right handed" cameras that have been flipped so that someone can try to make an advertisement without having to pay the manufacturer of the camera.
