Nice tennis shots! Most of the high school courts my son plays on have chain link fences surrounding them. Occassionally when the adjacent court is vacant I can come inside the fence. Most matches I'm left outside the fence. How do people deal with chain link fences?

I'm afraid the coaches would frown on my first choice--wire cutters!

My best efforts so far are to stand about 2-3' from the fence and set the lens (Canon 70-200 f2.8 so that it doesn't focus closer than 6'. There is still a perceptable blur from the links. When I try to focus on a player on the near court the fence creeps into the depth of focus more prominently.

Are there any good Photoshop techniques for removing a fence blur?

Thanks,
John D.

fence blur is really tricky, i have to deal with it for softball photos all the time, we have this nasty silver chain link fence right in front of home plate, its horrible...the baseball field has this green mesh fence, you cant even see it in the camera at all, i love it...

just do your best to get a straight on angle and the longest focal length possible and SQUEEZE the focus through the wholes...at 200mm straight on it works great, get a slight angle and the fence shows up...total bummer

Just purchased the 85mm 1.8 largely on your postings....cannot wait to try it.
If it works as well as you say, have a Ridgewood BBQ on me.
