Currently I use PSE 6 on a Mac with a Neat Image Plug-In. My questions are as follows, if I want to apply a preset set of adjustments (I believe the term is Action) utilizing Neat Image as one of the settings to multiple images, do I have to upgrade to CS4? Will Lightroom allow me to do this or does it not allow the use of plug-ins? Thanks in advance.

If PSE6 supports actions, you can create an action that includes Neat Image.

It's easier to just batch the NR with the standalone version of Neat Image though.

Did you lose Digital Photo Professional (DPP)? Get it here (external link). Cursing at your worse-than-a-map reflector? Check out this vid! (external link)

I don't think they have a standalone version for Mac. I'm leaning towards getting Aperture and transferring my plug-in license over to that if they'll let me. I'll just do the majority of my quick edits in Aperture and fine tune in PSE 6.

Is it possible to select multiple images in PSE 6 and just apply a single adjustment to them at the same time? I have tried but I can't tell if either I'm doing something wrong or PSE 6 just isn't designed to let me do it.

I use a Mac, with NI and PSCS3. If your image has the EXIF embedded and you have a Neat Image profile for that combo of camera and ISO, then you can just record an action where you apply NI with the profile. The profile setting will be used for all of the images you process with the action, so just make sure that the ISO is not different for the batch of images you process.

Try it out. It worked in PSCS3, but I am not an Elements user so I can't offer any guess as to how it may or may not work there.

Good luck,

Kirk
