I can't imagine birding with a 100mm. I feel under gunned if I go out with anything less than my 500. Thanks. It wasn't intentional -- I just happened to have the macro lens on the camera when Mr. Cardinal dropped in to see what I was doing. While it is a sharp lens, it sure doesn't have enough reach to do any real birding, unless they are tame. Atmospheric haze in images? Click for Tutorial to Reduce Atmospheric Haze with Photoshop.

If there is a sharper lens around, I would need Kevlar gloves to handle it. ntinlizi wrote in post #7504419 i love cardinals! this is a great shot Thanks. I love them too. They are abundant in the area where my parents live so finding them is no challenge at all. Atmospheric haze in images? Click for Tutorial to Reduce Atmospheric Haze with Photoshop.
