Awesome pic Olelovold, the dramatic light goes nice with the background.

I LOVE THE DEEP OCTA. I'm liking this modifier more and more. My preferred setup is, like most others, inner diffuser only. The light is just so beautiful. I especially love the transistion to shadows. Here is one I took today with it:

Great work with the sky, love it.

cheers, juice (Canon shooter, Elinchrom lighter, but pretty much agnostic on brands.)

Wow those are super cheap (even though they are the old school transparent ones and who knows how badly beat up). I guess as long as they work, they are a steal for sure.

Okay, quick question bc I want to make sure Im not just missing something here. Can the 53" rotalux NOT be closed up and stored in its case assembled? If it can Im having a hell of a time trying to figure out how. I know the 39" deep can, so maybe its a "deep" thing and not the rest of the modifiers? Someone who has one of these things help me out!

It goes in exactly like the DO. Make sure you get the speedring at the right end of the case :-)

Well Im pretty sure Ive got that much figured out, I just cant seem to fold it up. After I release the rod locks so they can be in the 90 degree orientation and fold/flip the rods so they are in, they dont seem to wanna fold up. They are too tight. Feels like the fabric is going to stretch or tear or something. Anyone bored and wanna snap a pic for me of what this thing is supposed to look like folded?

Last listing of the Digital 1200rx with 2 SE heads (external link) if anyone is interested. If it doesn't sale... I will use the pack/lights. Was lucky to get a great deal on the setup.

Passing on some savings if anyone is interested.

Every Rotalux modifier can just fold down ( a la umbrella-style) and do into its case. The rods stay in the locking collars of the speed ring and in the corner pockets of the modifier.

There's no reason to ever remove the rods or completely break it down unless you want to store it flat.

Hey Guys
Stumbeld across this thread and the Ranger vs Quadra thread awhile back. Found some very useful info that helped me decide to buy...............both. Ended up buying a Ranger Speed AS kit and the Quadra Rx 2-head kit. Picked up a deep octa, 135 cm Octa, 100x100 cm square softbox and a few other things like grids. Used the Quadras and Deep Octa in a shoot the other day and loved the results. Thanks for having such an open and useful forum!
