Almost forgot to snap a pic:

Nice! Just a while ago I was looking for a Pelican case for my 3 BXRis, but I didn't get any feedback. Then I realized I still had my Tamrac Strongbox large case. It holds all three perfectly.

Yeah really. I throw everything including the kitchen sink on our cases. The lights are pretty durable. You can throw the cables and transmitters and such in the case too.

I get 1/250s with the slightest amount of falloff. If I use the Pocket Wizard Plus II I get a totally clean 1/250s and usable 1/320s with my Elinchrom's.

Rob, I thought it was technically impossible to get a faster shutter speed than the max sync speed of the camera body. And for the D700 is 1/250th... Or am I incorrect?

I think he is saying part of the frame is dark but crops it out?

Hi Rafael,

Oops. I was distracted when posting.

Let me correct myself.

With Skyports I get a clean 1/200s and a usable 1/250s with a slight hint of the curtain that would never be seen in most situations other than bright areas that had to be clean.

Using Pocket Wizard Plus II's I get a clean 1/250s and 1/320s is not usable.

With a sync cord I get a totally clean 1/250s and an extremely usable 1/320s.

Nope. ;)

I find the point where I get a clean frame and then depending on whether I'm seeing a slight vignette or the actual band of the curtain I decide if I can push it or not. I never shot with curtain in the frame with the intent of cropping. It might work for some but that mentality doesn't work for me. :)

Ok so we got the same results with the D700 and Skyports and Sync cable (I do not have any Pocket Wizards so I cannot get compare with them). Here are some pics. Are these consistent with the results you are getting Rob?

Last time i try to defend you :p

I dont think a 1/3rd of a stop on the shutter would be worth it

Unless I really need to be changing power levels or changing levels of strobes on booms and such, I typically use the PW's because I just like the fact that 1/250s is completely clean and I don't have to think about it at all.

Once I know the limit of my shutter speed I then turn to ND's and get the job done. :D

I placed my order for the PowerST4 from B&H yesterday! Once it arrives will have to test it out and see what kind of shutter speeds I can get with it and a MiniTT1 on camera. I'll probably do a mini review for everyone to check out. I think that the features on the PowerST4 (auto power tracking, using FEC on camera to control power, using my Sekonic meter, etc) are going to be really cool!

Rafel, I have a D300s and your sync cord shots look more like my Skyport shots.
