Has anyone ever seen a Ranger RX Speed AS kit with 2 A heads? Never seen a Ranger kit with 2 heads except for the Quadra.
The local distributor said the above is what he's selling and at about 2.350,- USD it's so friggin' cheap, it'd be a crime not to pick up (at least) one.

That is pretty cheap! I have 2 x A heads and the AS pack :)

Oh make sure you grab the 4m extension cable too!

I can't seem to get myself to pull the trigger on D-Lites because deep down I want a BXRi or better (RX).

So instead of getting two D-Lites, I just got another BXRi 500! Yay! Lol.

I'm happy that my Elinchrom gear is slowly (but surely) growing. Too bad I couldn't afford to add a few more hundreds and jump on an RX 600. Womp, womp! :(

Good deal Sean. Don't drive yourself too crazy about not having RX's. I know it would be nice but with some great modifiers those BXRi's will sing!

Concentrate on what will help you create great images the fastest. :D

Down the road add another BXRi and have a killer 4 light setup.

Congrats on your purchase Sean... I also wanted to have a 4 light setup as mentioned by Rob, but in all honesty besides when I am using a full white seamless on the back (and using 2 strobes to light it up properly), I rarely use more than 3 lights. And since my 3 RX sit perfectly in their Elinchrom (3 Light hard box), I decided to take the plunge and sell my DLites, so anytime I need a 4th light I just use the Nikon SB-900 or I get creative with reflectors :) Recently I have been going back to the basics and shooting a lot of 1 light setups (with reflectors or sun as fill).

Nowadays I shoot Nikon, but deep inside I am still a Canon lover... plus Nikonians don't have a cool place to hang like POTN :)

Agreed. I don't normally use 4 lights but it's great to have it when you need it. I shoot a lot with 1 to 3 lights and I'm a huge fan of reflectors. These days I love the most efficient and specular reflectors I can find.

Specular reflectors work amazing in conjunction with the Deep Octa and I with the Beauty Dishes. Keep the high contrast in the images.

Good advice guys! I've always wanted to invest in a reflector but my attention always gravitates towards strobes. Lol.

I am an absolute GUN at losing reflectors. Genius at it. Haven't lost a flash or a Quadra head yet, though.

cheers, juice (Canon shooter, Elinchrom lighter, but pretty much agnostic on brands.)

I lost 3 umbrellas during beach shoots :) (Gone with the wind)... This summer I haven't done a beach shoot yet but I am planning on using the Beauty Dish only (the Deep Octa is a crazy sail!) with the Vagabond II (15 lbs) and a 15 lbs sandbag on the stand to anchor that damn thing to the ground...

When there's wind I go right for the beauty dish. I really like what I've been seeing from Brendan and Frank Doorhof shot with the Maxilite. I plan on taking my 10.25" high performance reflector on a few shoots to check it out.

I thought the MaxiLite and MaxiSpots were 15.75"? Btw when I was referring to reflectors in my previous posts it was the Lastolite Collapsible ones not these strobe reflectors :) I do get confused sometimes when people talk about them, why the hell did they put the same names to these things! Darn it..

Yes I knew that. :D

I was responding to the comment about using the beauty dish when it's windy.

The Maxilite is an amazingly efficient reflector with grid available. If you like the look of a dish for location work you'd love the look of the Maxilite, and when you have to hit a spot from a distance it's amazing.

I've been thinking of getting one and I love what I've seen.

I saw it once at the store and was tempted... Darn it Rob now you are making me think twice... LOL... I did see some pics from Frank at his seminar and that also sparkle my interest :)

A little off topic here but I was just wondering if you guys also noticed. We Elinchrom users talk about anything Elinchrom on any "Elinchrom thread" even though the thread was meant for something else more specific. Lol.

I just noticed that we go off topic a lot and I kind of enjoy it. You never know what modifiers or whatever will be discussed next.
