I shoot with it alot on location, it just takes the right grip gear for it.

Its actually alot more durable and sturdy then the 175cm Octa or the 135cm Octa.

I love it for location work, along with the Deep Octa 100cm its my two most used modifiers for location shooting.

Care to share some shots? Would love to see some photos behind the name "do little"

If you've been married long enough, you won't need those balls anyway, but you definitely need the Octabank!

:lol::lol::lol:
Love it.

Nowadays I shoot Nikon, but deep inside I am still a Canon lover... plus Nikonians don't have a cool place to hang like POTN :)

and French and English

what is double edge transfer shadow?

Edge transfer in simple terms is that area where you see the highlights changing into shadows. The softer the light the larger the edge transfer is, think of it as a softer transition between highlight and shadow. Double edge as coming from a deep octa is where you can actually see two different types of shadow in that transition area, kind of a double shadow (a dark one and a lighter one right next to it). I suck at giving explanations so I hope you get what I am saying with this :)

Could anyone tell me the EL 74' Octabank's length when packed into the bag?

Anyone able to answer this? Metric or Imperial, either way would be great ;)

Its around 125cm long and a diameter thickeness of approx 24cm in its bag, weight is around 4kg, a little less with original mount.

Thanks, both of you :)

no I totally understand. It is not as defined as a bare flash. One obvious line like an on off switch

Sooo, I just got back from buying a bunch of stuff from the local distrubor for a buddy of mine. Sending all this stuff to him next week. Total price: about 1040,- USD. :D
Been doing some full power test pops and everything's working fine, the softboxes are in fact genuine Elinchroms... Certainly buying more soonish.

Click the pic for a gallery link of some more pics I took (my friend had not tried this gear before and wanted to see)

Curiously enough, I just noticed that the FXRi strobe says 90-140/180-260 VAC 50-60 Hz on the back. I thought the FXRi was just plain 180-260 VAC before (and thus not being BXRi).

I also printed out the Elinchrom product sheet with the new Indirect 150cm Deep Octa on it and showed it to my dealer, asking whether he knew anything about it, and he said yeah but he didn't know why it was already on the product sheet. It's planned to be released during Photokina (end of September) as far as he knows.
