Any Advice for Removing this Lens Flare?

Took this shot yesterday. Would love to remove the green lens flare, I tried for a long time last night but just couldn't make it look "right." If anyone out there has a technique that would successfully get rid of it I would love to see/hear it and would REALLY appreciate it!

i dunno but I know I could get it out with a clone stamp band aid combination action in photoshop. It would take a while if you arent terribly proficient at these tools but it would work. Other than that, you could try selecting it and changing the color by making it less green and more brown. also It looks really underexposed in the bot right corner try to fix your crop.

the flare doesn't distract from the photo to me, but the sensor dust does:p

Let me know what you think,

Thanks for pointing that out. I do need to clean it.

I think the dust should be pretty easy to remove from this shot though :)

You know... Derekus, I think what is hurting the shot more here is that what (I think) the photo is trying to convey is in danger of being missed (lost in shadow in this image). This is a nice shot of a private moment being taken in by someone who apparently is there just to take in the joy of witnessing a sunset - and since we are behind this person, we get to share in this moment also. That to me is the "magic" of the shot that needs to be enhanced/preserved. Perhaps the flare should be removed, but what the image has to say should not be muted and lost in the dark. Bringing the person out of the shadows seems to help draw attention to the fact that this is a shot more about an intimate moment between man and nature rather than jet trails or just a sunrise - but I imagine that was your intention all along ... I like the contemplative nature of this shot you've made. Good job!
