Was this a morning shot? It looks that it was....it must of been cold. What were your setting, exposure time? It looks like maybe you did a little HDR? If so, maybe adjust your bracketing a couple of stops to give a little different look....but overall a good job for your first time.

Nice shots, I wonder if our pathes crossed? Those are sunrise shots.

Very nice pics. If you don't already have it, I strongly recommend picking up the Photographer's Guide to Yosemite. They sell it at all the stores in the Valley and it's a great resource. Keep 'em coming -- I can never get enough of Yosemite!

Yes it was at sunrise. It was about 25 degrees, and i forgot my gloves. These are hdrs with three different exposure times. I'll have to look them up. The aperture was set at 22. They were bracket by 2 stops.

We had copy with us. My friend had his 40d error 99 right after sunrise. His shutter died right after a picture of Bridal Vail falls. So left pretty early since so many roads were closed. I plan on going back soon. This was my first time there in the winter, I am hooked.

Well it turns out one of the other photogs was me! LOL Who knew! Dave actually came up to me and asked me some questions. I was freezing and wasn't in a chatty mood and stayed in my jeep after I set the shutter release, not going to stand there for ten minutes and freeze!

I remember Dave being excited that we both were using the 10-22mm lens and that we had both got them recently. It seems I didn't steer you wrong as your shots turned out well.

Good times for sure, but I'm still trying to catch up on my sleep and edit my photos. And they call that vacation, yeah right!

And you live in Fresno??? Isn't that like a sneeze away? I'd be there all the time, I'd know the park so well they'd hire me to be there official greeter. :D

Guilty as charged. I takes me one hour to get to the gate from my house. But I have been bitten by the bug now!

Yea I too had the same problem with my 40d. There is nothing like having a perfect shot, ready to go & the shutter clicks....then the famous error99. Did you get any pics of Yosemite Falls? Was it closed? Great pics!
