I have seen images where people take several shots of the same person and put them all together in the same image. For instance one shot was of a little girl sitting on the couch...the photographer took about 6 shots of that girl sitting in several different places on the same couch then merged the image into one shot. Can someone tell me how to do that or point me to a link. I cannot find it anywhere on here.

Thanks,
Tom

The simple explanation is that it is done with layers and masks. Each image is placed in a separate layer then layers masks are used to hide and/or reveal the elements you want.

I've seen a poster here do a brilliant one; I think its Bobster so hopefully he'll chime in.

I was hoping there was an easier way than having to cut, copy and paste. Since the camera position never changes but the person moves to a different position for each frame.

Using layers and masks is not the same as cutting and pasting.
